Equitable and Inclusive Schools Qualification Program (EISQP) Facilitator Roster Posting 

The Ontario Principals’ Council (OPC) is seeking Members who are highly qualified practising elementary and secondary principals and vice-principals to facilitate the Additional Qualification (AQ) Program, Equitable and Inclusive Schools, Part 1 – Administrator FocusThis offering is an accredited program with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) that will encompass 125 hours of blended synchronous and asynchronous learning for candidates. 

Facilitators and candidates will use a Learning Management System (LMS) to support learning.  Grounded in Ontario’s education context and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Equitable and Inclusive Schools, Part 1 – Administrator Focus, will explore issues of equity, anti-oppression and anti-discrimination through the lens of school leadership. Candidates will engage in critical reflection, dialogue and inquiry founded on the professional and ethical standards of the teaching profession to examine shared responsibilities in providing equitable, inclusive and accessible education for every student. 

Responsibilities 

  • deliver the EISQP content based on the schedule established through the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) 

  • communicate program requirements and expectations to candidates  

  • monitor candidate participation and engagement in the program and provide candidates with meaningful and relevant feedback to enhance learning  

  • collaborate with the program lead and OPC team to plan and deliver approved course content  

  • deliver the program as requested and in accordance with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) Guidelines  

  • complete Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) training to support our efforts to continuously improve the delivery of our programs through an anti-oppressive and anti-colonial lens  

  • be punctual for synchronous sessions and communicate changes directly with candidates and program lead regarding any changes to scheduled sessions  

  • support development and review of content as requested and 

  • meet with the OPC team and other facilitators as needed. 

Selection Criteria

A successful applicant will possess the following: 

  • Member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) in good standing 

  • an understanding of public education in Ontario  

  • practising principal or vice-principal with recent, relevant and varied school experiences 

  • knowledge of foundational principles that support human rights, inclusion and anti-oppression  

  • identified expertise in key areas of school leadership and facilitation 

  • demonstrated understanding of a province-wide perspective 

  • comfort using a Learning Management System (LMS) and a variety of digital tools to effectively facilitate online learning  

  • proficiency in using various office programs including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and G-suite 

  • exemplary communication skills and abilities  

  • a dynamic and resourceful approach to facilitation based on continuous self-learning and knowledge of current trends and current research in education and 

  • understands and demonstrates adult learning principles. 

The following will be considered an asset: 

  • experience in both elementary and secondary panels.

Selection Process 

Our selection team will review and assess all applications based on the identified success criteria. Selected candidates will be invited to take part in an online interview via Zoom meeting (with video) and will need to be available on Monday, November 4 or Tuesday, November 5, 2024. This process also includes contacting references and ensuring balanced regional representation.

  • two references (at least one supervisory officer).
