EDI Update

Over the past year, the OPC has worked with a variety of Members with diverse roles and lived experiences to develop our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Framework. This document is intended to provide some examples and guiding principles of how schools and systems can focus their anti-oppressive work, depending on where they are in their journey. We recognize that different systems have different levels of resources, supports and expertise in doing this work, but we all have a shared obligation to ensure that schools and systems improve their practices and procedures to ensure the best opportunities for all students.

Participants are needed for a transnational research project into the leadership experiences of Black principals and vice-principals. If you are interested in participating in research interviews and focus group conversations about your experiences as a Black administrator, please see the invitation from Dr. Katina Pollock of Western University.

The current post in the Director’s Blog reflects on using identity first or person first language.
